This educational programme consists of a theory course, a card game and testimonial and educational videos. These tools enable young people who are deaf and hard-of-hearing to familiarise themselves with the railway environment and learn about safety rules.
Theory course
This section covers:
- The difference between Infrabel and SNCB
- An explanation of the railway infrastructure
- Causes and consequences of trespassing on the tracks
- Railway safety rules at a level crossing and close to the tracks
- The checklist for worry-free rail travel
Card game
The cards highlight a variety of situations. The young people will have to classify them in three columns: very dangerous / might be dangerous / not very dangerous.
Video testimonial
Valérie Moreels, Lucas's mum, tells us her story and that of her son. This powerful testimonial allows you to put the awareness raising process into a more human context.
Educational videos
Jasmine, Bastien and Charles, three young deaf people, take on the role of actors to underline railway safety rules in two fun and educational videos.
Teacher's handbook
This handbook will guide you and provide you with all the information you need to teach your pupils about railway safety.
